Creative Workshop: “The Violet Cockatoo” Collage

For children aged 5–7
We invite young artists to a colourful creative workshop featuring a truly special character — the wonderful violet cockatoo!
At the beginning of the class, children will explore the bird’s distinctive features, including its beak, wings, body and beautiful crest. They will then use coloured paper, cardboard and decorative materials to create their own violet cockatoo collage.
With the teacher’s guidance, the children will cut, arrange and glue the individual pieces step by step. They will learn how different shapes can be combined to create a complete picture and how colours and decorative details can make their artwork especially expressive.
We do not expect every collage to look the same. Each child will be free to choose colours, feathers, decorations and background elements. As a result, every cockatoo will have its own personality and become a unique piece of art.
The workshop supports the development of:
fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination;
safe and confident use of scissors and glue;
concentration and the ability to follow instructions;
awareness of colour, shape and composition;
imagination and creative thinking;
patience, independence and attention to detail;
confidence in personal ideas and abilities.
In our creative workshop, children do not need to make something “perfect.” We encourage experimentation, support individual ideas and celebrate every child’s effort. This allows children to enjoy both the creative process and the pride of completing something with their own hands.
At the end of the workshop, each participant will take home a colourful violet cockatoo collage. It can brighten a child’s room or become a lovely handmade gift for someone special.
